Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel
My good friends and past clients Donald & Marie Beckerman were kind enough to refer their friends Tarra & Kenny to me. Tarra & Kenny were considering not hiring a DJ at all because their wedding was a small, afternoon affair and they did not think their friends would do much dancing. They were blown away at how much fun their little afternoon wedding turned out to be. I used creative icebreakers, follow-along dances, and just the right amount of quirky humor to engage the guests and make Tarra & Kenny feel like their money was well spent and their last minute decision to hire me a wise one.
Some unforgettable moments were Tarra’s son Jace getting to dance with his mom and new dad several times, including tearing up the dance floor with his rendition of Gangnam Style, Tarra & Kenny head-banging to Pour Some Sugar On Me right before they cut their cake (get it? Sugar.cake.), and Jace leading the conga-line all around the ballroom. Also, the minion cake-pops on the candy bar were a big hit (and, from what I hear, delicious!)
For various reasons, Brides & Grooms sometimes decide to forgo entertainment all together. While the “iPod” DJ seems like a great way to save money, I have never heard a client tell me they have enjoyed themselves at a wedding with no entertainment. While it is not everyone’s goal in life to have the “Wedding of the Century”, I have yet to meet a couple who would be happy with the idea of their guests not enjoying themselves at their wedding. Hiring the right entertainment for your wedding is the absolute best way to ensure that your guests have a great time.
