One of the things I love about being a mobile DJ is that I occasionally get to travel to new and interesting places to do weddings. Natalie found me on Wedding Wire and loved what she read. We hit it off over the phone, and she and her fiancé Anthony hired me to come down to La Jolla, CA to be a part of their wedding. The Historic Darlington House was the setting for this unique outdoor celebration, and the décor, catering, flowers, as well as all of the other vendors came together to give Natalie and Anthony the night of their dreams.
Aside from beautiful, the wedding reception was a ton of fun. The bridesmaids and groomsmen all entered the reception to their own specially selected songs. Natalie and Anthony choreographed their first dance to everyone’s surprise. Even the cultural make up of the crowd added to the fun. Both Natalie and Anthony come from big Italian families; so in addition to crowd dance favorites, we also did the Tarantella, New York New York, and yes, even the Chicken Dance. Music was a big priority to Natalie and Anthony, so I took their extensive list of song requests and created customized play lists for their cocktail hour, dinner hour, and dance time. At one point Anthony told me, “every song you have played so far has been a song I love.” Well…that’s easy to do when you picked them all sir. I was happy to oblige.
