Lacey & Adrian’s Wedding – September 24th 2016

In Los Angeles, there is a little haven for Victorian Style structures called Heritage Square Museum. During the day, costumed tour guides will tell you all about the historical buildings and houses that line the small village. At night, they allow private events to come in and take over the property. Lacey and Adrian pictured a night out under the stars with homages to their ethnic backgrounds as well as a twist of Hawaiian styles. An old rusted boxcar backdrop and strings of market lights were the perfect compliment and contrast to this rustic, yet modern reception.  The ceremony took place in front of the Lincoln Ave. Church. Lacey, her stepfather, and brother drove up to the wedding in a classic Ford Mustang, and the gentlemen escorted her down the aisle. After a quick ceremony, the guests made the short walk over to Hale House for the cocktail hour hosted by Glamorous Drinks…a very cool and very handy bartending service. Lacey and Adrian were swept away by their excellent team of Photographers and Videographers to make the most of the unusual and picturesque elements of the property.

Directly across the path from Hale House was the old boxcar. The guests took their seats as we began the Grand Entrance. Each couple in the bridal party posed atop the Hale House steps and then made their way over to the dance floor.  Lacey and Adrian entered to thunderous applause. Adrian thanked their guests for attending and asked his new bride to dance to “Love Song” by 311. After a few speeches and toasts, it was time to for the guests to experience another unique twist to the evening. Two food trucks pulled up ready to feed the 170 guests in attendance. Everyone got to experience a small part of the culinary treats Lacey and Adrian love so much.

Lacey and Adrian said over and over again that the one thing that keeps them in love is their laughter. Their home is filled with it, and their wedding proved this. Throughout the night and all around the property, the sounds of laughter could be heard almost as loud as the music. When it came time to get everyone up and dancing, the icebreaker had the guests howling with laughter and excitement. There wasn’t an inch to spare on the dance floor, and it stayed packed the entire night.

We took a small break in the middle of all the dancing to take care of some of the formalities. During the Married Couples Dance, we found a couple who had been married 66 years. Their advice to the newlyweds…keep on laughing! In lieu of a cake cutting, Lacey and Adrian surprised their guests again when the Get Shaved Hawaiian Ice truck pulled up. And that’s not all…when Adrian took the garter off of Lacey’s leg, he stretched it over a football and had the guys go long while the ladies cheered them on to catch it. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and we wrapped up the night with a sentimental Circle of Love, with Lacey and Adrian in the center dancing to “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes. Of course we couldn’t let the night end on a slow song, and we gave the guests three more high-energy dance songs, including “September” by EWF to send them off into the night exhausted, happy, and laughing.
