Kristie & Sean’s Wedding – September 10th 2016

Kristie and Sean were married exactly one year prior to their big family wedding, which they celebrated at Rancho Camulos Museum. On the lawn in front of the old School House, they said their “I Do’s” again in front of over 125 of their friends and family members. Being wine lovers, Kristie and Sean decided to combine red and white wines in lieu of sand to represent their new lives together. Great idea…it tastes much better than sand when you toast with wine!

After a cocktail hour right next to the ceremony site, the guests were invited over to the grand lawn for a beautiful evening under the stars and market lights strung from the giant tree. During the evening, the guests were invited to head over to the “Selfie Station,” which was stalked with props, selfie sticks, and a cool hashtag (#thesmithswedagain) to snap photos of themselves in groups.

Kristie asked me when we were putting the finishing touches together if I could help her with a special surprise dance. She wanted to start dancing to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, but then mix into “Uptown Funk”. Sean also wanted to do something similar with “A Song For My Son” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”. I love surprise dances, and I was happy to help them out by premixing a few samples and letting them pick the ones they liked best. They finished their formalities with a dance with their newborn son Jackson. Taylor Swift’s “Never Grow Up” was the perfect soundtrack for this touching moment. Then everyone, who was already holding hands and surrounding them, joined them on the floor, and we kept this dance party going till 11pm. (The museum’s absolute cut off time!)

I have to say this wedding was made so easy and care free by Soltana and her team of coordinators from Velvet Alley Events. They were spot on all night, and it was a pleasure working with them. We were also reunited with Laura Moll, who was the photographer we worked with two weeks ago. The guests were also very happy with the amazing food brought to them by Command Performance Catering.

Oh…we discovered that Rancho Camulos is supposed to be haunted. Guess who went ghost hunting after the wedding?
