I have known Christy since our days in the same youth group over 20 years ago. She has always been like a little sister to me. So when she met and got engaged to Lance, I told her I had to do her wedding. The event was going to be a St. Patrick’s Day wedding at the Santa Susana Community Park Center in their hometown of Simi Valley. As they were saying their “I Do’s” down the street, a team of friends and family turned the community room into party central. When Christy and Lance arrived, they were greeted by the thunderous applause of their guests.
Christy and Lance didn’t want too many formalities…they wanted to PARTY! The few traditions they had were sweet, but they never missed an opportunity to show their guests how much fun they were having by laughing and just enjoying the moments. Once the dancing started, it continued non-stop, and the dance floor only got wilder and wilder as the night went on. By the end of the night, we had everyone left on the floor, and the reception ended as it began…with a bang!
Some brides and grooms choose expensive venues, exquisite food, and lush accommodations. Christy and Lance chose to just throw a party with their friends and family, opting for fun and good company over everything. They showed everyone that you really can do it “your way” and have just as great a time as anyone. They had a vision and stayed true to it from the start. The end result was an epic night their guests will remember for years!
