My good friend Maria from SummerSwan Photography told her friend Christina that she had to get in touch with me for her wedding. When I met with Christina and Andrew they told me how much they loved to dance and how important it was for them to have everyone dancing with them and enjoying a fun, smooth evening. It was a perfect match, and on an unusually warm January afternoon, we began this epic party with the sweetest ceremony outside The Tower Club building in The Secret Garden. Maria’s husband, Chuck, presided over the ceremony making it personal and spiritual. During the ceremony, Christina and Andrew braided a unity cord symbolizing the strength a family will achieve when they work together with God in their marriage. They kissed for the first time as husband and wife, and it was off to the party.
The Tower Club in Oxnard sits atop the tallest building in Oxnard, and the view is absolutely spectacular. Their coordinator, Selina Atanay, went absolutely above and beyond decorating the dessert and candy tables, handling the flowers, and just making sure everything was perfect. Family friend Alex Uvari was capturing all the wonderful moments on video, while Maria and Claudia from SummerSwan made all of our jobs so much easier by always being right there getting both candid and posed shots all the way till the end of the night. There was even a super-cool inflatable photobooth provided by Endless. Everything was set for Christina, Andrew, and all of their guests to have maximum fun this night. The bridal party and newlyweds entered the room to “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars, and Christina and Andrew made a adorable thank you speech before dancing their first dance.
Maria and Claudia zipped the couple through their table visits and photos and right on time Christina and Andrew wanted to do a special dance with each of their oldest children Jordan and Audrey. The crowd was itching to start dancing, and the ice breaker showed how crazy things were about to get with almost every “Team Captain” standing on their chairs to pump up their tables. Christina loves to dance, but she told me Andrew was an absolute Beast on the floor. One or both of them were out there dancing the entire night, which was great, because they purposefully planned an extra long reception so they would have more than enough time to get their grooves on.
The party lasted well into the night, even getting a bit racy between Andy’s “Magic Mike” dance before he removed the garter and “The Carmel Sensation’s” stripper dance knocking “Andy Pants” onto the floor. The crowd absolutely loved these shenanigans but none more than Christina herself! I think I received and played more requests this night than any other wedding in history, but it kept the dance floor absolutely packed all night. When it was finally time to wrap up the evening, Christina and Andy danced to “The Rest of Our Lives” by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. This was a night no one will ever forget!
