Ashley and Scott had a very different vision for their wedding. They wanted it to be a laid back party in their friend’s backyard. Ashley wanted no stress and lots of dancing. Scott wanted people swimming afterwards. What neither of them wanted was a lot of program, formalities, or standard wedding stuff. Rattler’s BBQ would cater the event, and their friend Mo, who owned the house, would probably be out dancing with them all night. It was destined to be a fun and laid back night.
Ashley’s mom’s fiancé Steve would perform the ceremony. Steve has been in front of crowds before as an impersonator, a DJ, a singer, etc. but never in the capacity of wedding Officiant. At the far end of the backyard, he gave Ashley and Scott the perfect short and sweet ceremony they were looking for. Jenna Clark, their photographer, whisked them away to take family and some very scenic romantic shots, while the guests enjoyed a self-service bar of beer, wine, and liquor. Everyone was delighted when the newlyweds made their way to the dance floor for their first dance.
After a delicious BBQ meal, the partygoers were ready to flood the dance floor. Once we started the music and especially once the requests for fun, flashback, and inside joke songs started pouring in. Even the chili Spring air didn’t stop the hardcore group of wedding guests from dancing to everything I could throw at them. The only thing missing at the end of the night was Scott. Where was he? Why in the pool of course, along with several of the missing wedding guests. Yes, both Scott and Ashley got exactly what they wanted out of the night. Mission accomplished!
