Amanda & Chris’ Wedding – October 13th 2018

Every once in a while I meet a couple at a coffee shop or restaurant, and we almost instantly click. Such was the case almost exactly a year ago when I first met with Amanda and Chris. If the meeting took any longer than usual, it was because we were gabbing more about our mutual loves of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Animals, etc. than talking about the actual wedding. However, I will never forget a sentence they said to me. “Nothing will clear a dance faster than a bad DJ.” They went on to tell me that only three things will effect their guests experience; The food, the alcohol, and the music. Nothing else matters! I knew right then and there, there was no place I’d rather be the following October than at their wedding!

As is typically the case starting the second weekend in October, the temperature dropped from the heat wave we’ve been living with for the past several months. In fact, a storm moved in two days ahead of schedule and broke the evening before. But the crisp air along with the beautiful creations by Flowers By Dan and the always-charming Little White House at Calamigos Equestrian Center set the stage for the perfect Fall wedding.

As the guests made their way from the Little White House to the Polo Room, they were met with some charming Disney-inspired thematic elements, like Fast Passes for place cards, a map of Disneyland converted into their table assignments, Attraction-named tables, and this really cool “Up” inspired sign in board. The guests didn’t have to wait too long to see the newlyweds after the ceremony because their photographer, Allison and her assistant, kicked some serious butt and got through the formal photos before it got too dark outside. When Amanda and Chris made their way into the ballroom, I knew by the cheering, whooping, and hollering by the guests (especially those seated at the Space Mountain table) we were in for a rocking good time tonight!

It came as no surprise that when it was finally time to open up the dance floor, it was flooded from one corner to the other with guests who shared Amanda and Chris’ great taste in all things 90s. We took them on a musical journey, from the Spice Girls to the Backstreet Boys, bouncing all the way up to current hits and all the way back to the 80s. It was SO much fun playing for and with this crowd. When it was finally time to say goodnight, Amanda and Chris did one last dance to “Faithfully” by Journey to cap the night off.
